Belated Apathy
She awoke from another nightmare last night
Said she saw marbled faces
Frightened fingers reached for the pills
So she could venture to better places.
Belated apathy, she wrote
Where can I go to feel alive again?
Show me the places
Where I can forget your name.
I can't find anything but this void inside.
She's been stripped of everything
except some flesh that bleeds
She's been robbed of everything
except a soul; a soul that needs you.
We can hear her dying still.
