The Wall That Surrounds ME
Once Open Plains Allowed Thoughts and Feelings to Flow Freely
Have been surrounded by cold gray granite.
The granite wall is scared and beaten.
It serves its purpose, to protect, to guard.
Along the outer edges lie the dead remains of long forgotten
attempts to penetrate.
The enemies and the innocents have all perished at these walls,
never to have been let in.
So, they lay, and die, and are forgotten.
Walk along the edge and you will see few holes.
DonŐt worry though, you are safe in here.
There are masons on 24-hr stand by.
The wall will not fall. It can not fall. It must not fall.
It will remain.
The gate is made of rusted, hand staining, iron.
The hinges are almost completely rusted tight.
Rarely opened, this door is.
On rare occasions, light peeks through.
The residents inside go on full alert.
The visitor is usually escorted out. Never have been given a chance
Good or bad.
Now, the gate is open, all are allowed.
They flow in and out as free as they once did.
No wall.
Just a cold hearted sniper waiting for one to make it's move.
When it fires, it shoots to kill and kill it does.
No second thoughts, no remorse, and no hesitation.
But no innocents.
